100 Men on a Mission:

How We Work

100+ MEN ON A MISSION in the Des Moines area, was founded in 2011 by Mike Schneider and a group of dear friends, all community members in the Des Moines area.

Each member commits to donating $100 per meeting ($400 per year). For young professionals under the age of 30, your commitment would be $50 per meeting ($200 per year).

The donations will be given to charities/non-profits/worthy causes serving the Des Moines area only.

The purpose is for the contribution to stay 100% in the community.

Three charities/non-profits/worthy causes will be presented at the meeting. The group will vote by ballot and majority rules. Although it may not be your first choice, you are still obligated to donate.

If your name is drawn and you make a presentation and your charity is not chosen, you will still be eligible to put your name in the drawing at the next meeting.

For tax purposes, all checks will be made out to the chosen organization. If you are unable to attend, give your check to a member to deliver on your behalf.

The charity/non-profit/worthy cause must agree to NOT use the donors' names for future solicitations or give the information out to the public. If the charity/non-profit/worthy cause does not adhere to this condition, they will be removed from any future consideration.

The organizers of the meeting will collect names of organizations from the participants as they arrive. Please note: you do not have to bring the name of a local organization, though it is encouraged. At random, three organizations will be selected from the box. The members who wrote down each name will be asked to come up and give a short 5 minute presentation as to why their chosen organization should receive the donation. A 5 minute question and answer period follows.

The goal of the 100+ Men on a Mission organization is to make a large donation on behalf of the whole group. We want to be able to support this endeavor and give $10,000+ dollars at a time to make a large impact in our community, with each member's donation being part of the larger donation.
